In Catholic practice, Rosary names a form of prayer and contemplation as well as beads that help maintain the sequence of prayers. John Paul II explained it as contemplation of Christ’s life with Mary. Physical beads are an aid; counting them alone does not exhaust the practice’s religious meaning.
