Time zones of France and the US

Counting metropolitan France and its overseas territories, France spans 12 standard time zones, the most of any country. The United States has 11 when distant islands and territories are included; the two extreme zones listed for Baker and Howland Islands and Wake Island are not ordinary inhabited state time zones. Metropolitan France alone uses one standard time zone.
