A little wonder, every day

Dalí and Disney’s unrealized cartoon

AI conceptual studio scene, not a historical image.
AI conceptual storyboard, not an actual Destino sketch.
AI conceptual archive scene, not documentary evidence.

In 1945, Walt Disney invited Salvador Dalí to create an animated short called Destino. From January 1946, Dalí worked on it at the studio with Disney artist John Hench; together they created more than 200 sketches and drawings. Differences in their creative approaches and other difficulties halted the project after only a brief test sequence had been filmed. Most materials were preserved by Disney’s archive and the Dalí Foundation, and a completed version of the film was released in 2003.
