Чи ростуть ніс і вуха все життя?
Noses and ears often appear larger in older age, but the popular explanation that they “grow continuously throughout life” is too simple. Cross-sectional measurements suggest that external ear length tends to increase with age, though this is not steady childhood-style growth, and some changes involve skin, tissue elasticity, and gravity. The nose’s shape also changes with age—for example, the tip may descend and the nose may appear longer—but studies do not show one simple mechanism of continuous organ growth. These are not the only tissues that change over a lifetime; the “only two body parts” formula is a popular oversimplification.
