Water Ice on the Moon

Yes. NASA missions have found compelling evidence of water ice on the Moon. In 2009, the LCROSS mission analyzed ejecta from an impact into the permanently shadowed Cabeus crater near the south pole and detected water and other volatiles. Later, spectral data from the Moon Mineralogy Mapper aboard Chandrayaan-1 provided direct evidence of surface water ice in polar cold traps.

The discovery concerns polar cold traps and particular locations; it does not mean the entire Moon is covered in ice or that the ice is easy to extract. Scientists also distinguish water ice from water molecules and hydroxyl bound to lunar soil.
