Differences in heart rate
On average, adult women have a somewhat higher heart rate than men and a smaller average heart size. This does not mean every woman has a faster pulse: rates vary with age, body size, fitness, hormones and health. Cardiac output depends on both heart rate and the volume pumped per beat, so explaining the difference by heart size alone is an oversimplification.
Group averages do not determine an individual’s pulse.
