Speleology and the study of thunder

Speleology is the interdisciplinary scientific study of caves and their environments. “Brontology” does appear as a rare term for the study of thunder, but modern research on thunderstorms and thunder generally falls within meteorology and atmospheric acoustics rather than a widely recognized standalone discipline.
