Lips are touch-sensitive—not "a hundred times" more

Lips are highly touch-sensitive and can distinguish some fine spatial details more accurately than fingertips. But measurements depend on the test: studies of tactile spatial resolution report lower thresholds at the lips than at the fingers, which does not mean overall sensitivity is “hundreds of times” greater. Kissing can prompt emotional or physiological arousal, but there is no universal rule that everyone’s pulse rises to 100 beats per minute; responses depend on the person and context.
