Ducks Can Dive Six Meters

Yes, some ducks can dive to around 6 meters, but this does not apply to all ducks. Diving ducks such as scaup forage underwater and dive regularly; field observations for some species report depths around 5–7 meters. Mallards and other surface-feeding ducks usually tip forward to feed or dive less often.

Some sea ducks dive much deeper: long-tailed ducks are among the deepest-diving birds, with reports of substantially greater depths. Thus, six meters is a plausible common depth for some species, not a universal limit or ability.
