The sum of roulette numbers

A standard European roulette wheel has numbers from 0 to 36. The numbers 1–36 add up to 36 × 37 ÷ 2 = 666, and zero does not change the total. An American wheel has an additional 00 pocket, which also contributes zero to this sum. This is an arithmetic coincidence, not a feature that affects the odds of play.
