The Hubble Space Telescope launched in 1990. NASA reports more than 1.7 million observations over the mission; by February 2025 its data had contributed to more than 22,000 scientific papers. These are cumulative figures from dated overviews, rather than annual output. Early images suffered from a primary-mirror shape error, compensated by corrective optics in 1993. Hubble technologies helped applications including digital mammography; describing them as the foundation of all MRI and CT is unsupported.
