У корови чотири шлунки чи один? | Does a cow have four stomachs or one?

When people say a cow has “four stomachs,” they mean four compartments in one complex stomach: the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. Microbes in the first compartments ferment plant fibre; the abomasum is most like the single-chambered human stomach because it secretes acid and enzymes. The popular phrase is understandable, but anatomically it is more accurate to say one stomach with four compartments.
