Perennial Rivers in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has no perennial natural rivers that flow year-round. The country has many wadis—channels and valleys of intermittent streams that are usually dry but can fill after rain and flash floods. Runoff can be substantial in the southwestern mountains, but it is seasonal and unreliable.
The claim concerns perennial natural rivers specifically. It does not mean Saudi Arabia has no surface water at all: seasonal flows, reservoirs behind dams, springs, and water associated with urban infrastructure exist.
