The stage name Ani Lorak is formed by reading the name Karolina backwards. In an interview with Lithuania’s DELFI, the singer recalled that in 1995 she competed on the Morning Star television contest, where another singer named Karolina was already performing. Her producer suggested reversing her name, and “Ani Lorak” was born. This is her own recollection, published in an interview.
