Khmer's many signs, Rotokas's few

Khmer writing has a very large set of signs: Guinness World Records counts 74 letters, although Khmer is an abugida rather than an alphabet in the strict linguistic sense. Rotokas orthography does use 12 Latin letters for the Rotokas language on Bougainville Island in Papua New Guinea; this does not mean the language has only 12 sounds, nor that the two systems can be compared using a single straightforward measure.
