Are Al Pacino and Rossini related?

Online claims sometimes describe Al Pacino as a distant relative of composer Gioachino Rossini, but I could not find a reliable genealogical study confirming the connection. Biographical sources describe Rossini as born in Pesaro and Pacino’s family background as Sicilian; that alone neither proves nor disproves a relationship. The claim should therefore be treated as unverified.
