Animal intelligence
Different animals show sophisticated cognitive abilities. Whales use varied vocalizations, with group differences documented in some populations; New Caledonian crows solve tool-based tasks in experiments. These are examples from particular species and tasks, not a universal measure of “intelligence.” [1–4]
Whales communicate through sounds, and crows can solve some tool-based tasks.
