Glaciers cover about 10% of Earth’s land
Glacial ice covers about 10% of Earth’s land area, chiefly in the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets and in mountain glaciers. This is not 10% of the planet’s entire surface, and the estimate does not refer to icebergs: icebergs float in the ocean after calving from glaciers.
Glacial ice covers about 10% of Earth’s land, not the whole planet’s surface.
