Guinness World Records lists Hercules the liger under largest living cat with a 2013 date: 418.2 kg and 3.33 m in total length. A liger is the offspring of a male lion and female tiger, rather than a separate wild species. A historical record does not establish that the animal is alive or still the record holder today. Hybridization also does not imply identical size or fertility in every offspring.
