The cascading Plitvice Lakes

Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park has 16 named larger lakes and smaller waters connected by cascades and waterfalls. These natural cascades form and change along with the park’s tufa barriers. The official reliable sources checked for this publication did not substantiate an exact count of “about 140 waterfalls,” so we do not present that number as established fact.
