Британський закон про чаклунство скасували 1951 року

In 1951, Britain repealed the Witchcraft Act of 1735. The title can mislead: the 1735 law did not punish witchcraft as a real supernatural practice. It targeted people who pretended to have magical powers or to detect witches.

The Fraudulent Mediums Act 1951 repealed it and made fraudulent claims to act as a spiritualistic medium or exercise similar powers punishable. That replacement act was itself repealed in 2008. More precisely, Britain repealed and replaced its 1735 law against pretending to practice witchcraft in 1951.
