Транзистори: близько 100 мільйонів на людину за рік
An estimate of about 10¹⁸ transistors manufactured in 2003—roughly 100 million per person alive at the time—appears in semiconductor-history teaching materials. This is an approximate estimate of annual global production, not a count of unique devices or only one class of “silicon field-effect transistors.” Most transistors are manufactured as components within integrated circuits. Calling them “the most mass-produced technical product in history” depends on what counts as a product; it is best read as a popular comparison of scale, not a rigorously established record. The order of magnitude for 2003 is plausible, but the figure is approximate.
