Укус гігантського шершня дуже болючий — але рейтинг не такий однозначний | The Giant Hornet’s Sting Hurts—But the Ranking Is Less Clear

The Asian giant hornet’s sting is indeed described as very painful. Hornet researcher Shunichi Makino compared the sensation to being pricked by a red-hot needle; pain and swelling can last for days. But the claim that it is “one of the most painful insect stings” has no simple objective proof: the Schmidt scale is subjective and is not a universal ranking covering every species. Pain is also not the same as venom toxicity or the risk of an allergic reaction. The illustration was created with AI.
