Social Context and How Much We Eat
Eating behavior can vary with social context, but the claim that men consistently eat twice as much around women and later eat less in relationships is not established as a general rule. One field observation at a buffet found that men dining with women ate 93% more pizza than men dining only with men; it did not track first dates or later relationship stages and cannot establish causation. Social context can affect eating, but the effect is not universal.
