Humans are not alone in sleeping on their backs

The claim is false: other primates have been documented sleeping in a supine position. For example, an observation of three howler monkey species described both a curled sitting posture and lying on the back. Rhesus macaques used that posture rarely, but its occurrence is enough to disprove “humans are the only ones.” Sleep posture varies by species and circumstance.
