Antwerp, Europe’s diamond hub

Antwerp is often called Europe’s “diamond capital” because of its long trading history and dense concentration of diamond businesses. The Antwerp World Diamond Centre reports more than 1,300 diamond companies and four bourses in the city; in 2025 Antwerp remained the world’s leading venue for sales of rough diamonds directly from mining companies. This does not mean that all, or even most, of the world’s diamonds are currently cut there.
