Poverty in Kinshasa
More than half of Kinshasa’s residents lived below the national poverty line in World Bank estimates based on the 2012 household survey: about 53%. This is an older measure, and the claim that Kinshasa is among the world’s poorest capitals and residents currently live on about one dollar a day is not supported as precise, current statistics.
