RADA rejected Gary Oldman

Before enrolling at Rose Bruford drama school, Gary Oldman auditioned for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) but was not accepted. In a 2018 public conversation, he recalled being told to consider another line of work and being asked whether he had a fallback plan. The rejection anecdote comes from Oldman himself; he later trained at another drama school.
