Libya’s desert land

Libya is indeed among the world’s driest countries, but “99% is desert” appears overstated or conflates desert with semidesert. UNDP estimates that about 95% of Libya’s land is desert; UN-Habitat says more than 90% is desert or semidesert. Most people live along the Mediterranean coast and around oases.
