Pesticide residues on fruit
Tree with red apples 'Särsö' in Barkedal, Lysekil Municipality, Sweden. The apples ripened early and were unusually red on the side facing south and the camera, caused by the uncharacteristically many hours of sunlight during the hot summer of 2018.. Apples and peaches sometimes carry pesticide residues, but the claim that they absorb more than every other fruit is not a universal fact. Rankings such as the Dirty Dozen depend on the year, sample, and method; they measure residues, not how much pesticide each fruit “absorbed.”
