Some prison wardens in the past carried an unusual tool: a cell key combined with a small firearm. The Arms Industry Museum in Eibar describes these key pistols as rare objects used roughly from the 16th through the 19th centuries. They were intended to protect a warden while opening a cell door, but this is a historical device, not a modern keychain accessory.
