Charles Osborne's 68-year hiccups
Guinness World Records recognizes American Charles Osborne’s case as the longest attack of hiccups: it began in 1922 and stopped in 1990, about 68 years later. “Attack” describes the prolonged condition; it does not mean every individual spasm was literally continuous. This was an extraordinary record case, not a typical course of hiccups.
