The lost Brabourne yew

An exceptionally large yew once stood in Brabourne churchyard, Kent: before 1664, John Evelyn recorded its girth as 58 ft 11 in, about 17.96 m. The tree had disappeared by the 1890s. An age of about 3,000 years was only an old estimate; the age of ancient yews is difficult to determine from girth, so it is not a verified measurement. The tree is therefore not still growing there today.

AI concept of a generic old churchyard yew, not a reconstruction of the Brabourne tree.
