Pymonenko and Malevich’s studies

Kazimir Malevich recalled meeting Kyiv painter Mykola Pymonenko and being struck by his studio and paintings of Ukrainian life. Pymonenko taught at the Kyiv Drawing School, where Malevich attended classes. Reference works often date his studies to 1895–1897, but scholars note that the precise dates and formal status of the study are not entirely certain.
