Shark Teeth Keep Replacing Themselves
In many sharks, new generations of teeth develop behind the working row. When a tooth is lost or worn, a tooth behind it gradually moves forward. The process continues throughout life, but its pace and total vary by species. For some sharks, lifetime totals are estimated in the tens of thousands.
