Чи мозок реагує на відкидання як на фізичний біль?
Social rejection can genuinely feel emotionally painful, and some neuroimaging studies have found partial overlap between brain regions involved in social distress and the affective (unpleasant) component of physical pain. But saying the brain reacts “the same way” overstates the evidence. A meta-analysis of rejection studies did not support reliable activation of the full “pain matrix,” and multivariate comparisons found that neural patterns for rejection and physical pain differ, even in regions that partly overlap. Rejection is not tissue injury and does not produce an identical sensory pain signal.
