Indonesia’s islands
Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelagic state. Indonesia’s Geospatial Information Agency reports 17,380 islands in its current national data. Counts can change as islands are verified, named, and registered; this does not mean Indonesia has the most islands of any country in the world.
Indonesia’s national gazetteer counts 17,380 islands.
